A little about myself .........

 

Born in 1974 in Banbury, Oxfordshire, UK, I spent most of my youth playing football, helping my dad with his renovating and my mum with her cooking business. This is where I formed my love of renovating and cooking.

I left home for Bournemouth University age 18 where I studied industrial design for 4 years including a year working for Ford in Charleville Mezieres, France. From there I went to work for a leading design consultancy in London, working on many leading brands , creating working and visual prototypes.

After 8 years in London it was time for a change, wanting a bigger adventure I decided to live in France. The very first time I saw Valon, in Central Southern France, I knew it was a special place and fell in love with the village, the view and the my vision of what the ruins I bought could become.

For years my passion and my money was poured into my renovation project in Valon until I had established a business letting 3 of the properties as holiday accommodation and won a renovation award. With little time to explore my passion for art, the objects I produced had always been made in my spare time and sold in my Gallery to passing tourists and hikers. I love creating things and if someone else likes them too then even better. I have learnt to speak some French too and to grow my own fruit and vegetables, helped by the eco-climate here in Valon.

With all the renovations finished I have been able to pursue my art again and after two seasons working for Chardon Mountain Lodges (Val d'Isere) in the Alps and 9 years living in the heights of Valon, I gained creative inspiration from my beautiful surroundings. Something about the clear mountain air that sets your mind free…

My initial designs are mountain and nature based, however there are lots more to come and I love to make commissions if you have a particular interest / passion.

I am now based in Stratford upon Avon, UK but spend some of my time still running my gites in Valon,  and  helping out in Vald'isere, France.
